About
Breakspoll started in 2001 as an online poll among breakbeat enthusiasts and evolved into a major event, recognising the very best DJs, producers, events and more from across the breakbeat scene.
History
The Breakspoll awards event and after party has taken place at some of the UK's most iconic nightclubs, including Electrowerkz, Egg, Fabric, Matter, Herbal, Fire and Cable. Breakspoll has also toured internationally, with stops in Seville (10,000 people at the Palacio De Los Deportes San Pablo Stadium) and Miami (WMC), and has filled arenas at Glade Festival at Matterley Bowl and Crooked Sounds at Clapham Common.
Compilations
Breakspoll has released three official compilation albums, mixed by Breakfastaz, FreQ Nasty, Ed Solo and Skool of Thought. These releases stand as essential documents of the breakbeat scene, with the FreQ Nasty mix becoming one of the best-selling breakbeat compilations ever released.
