Breakspoll Line-up Artist Focus

February 9th 2011

We run you through each and every artist performing at Breakspoll 2011 – sit down, have a read, and get totally excited about the event coming up on March 4th!

This year we have put together an astounding line-up of breaks artists covering the vast gamut of breakbeat styles from around the world…

Krafty Kuts – the party monster who drops bombs everywhere he plays, brings his Instant Vibes to Breakspoll for his one man show that packs crowds in Worldwide from week to week.

Elite Force – his hybrid tech-breaks-dubstep-riddled-wobbling crazziness and exclusive refixes has seen sHacks profile skyrocket in 2010 firmly showing the force is strong in this one.

Deekline – Booty Bass, rump shaking madness from this one man hit machine, famous for working with rappers on both sides of the pond, his sets never fail to get the party bumping

Meat Katie – his on and off love affair with breaks is a turbulent one, but when you least expect it, he pulls out some of the best breaks you will hear. Total legend.

NAPT – Best Producers, Best Single – these guys have got it going on, but they are gracious with it. This year they’ve stepped down from the Best Producer category to give fresh blood a chance, but they will still be rocking the show for us.

Cut La Roc – Big beat! Big beat! Thats pretty much been the message from Mr La Roc this year, with sold out gigs featuring Fat Boy Slim, Dub Pistols and more, and who are we to disagree?

Rennie Pilgrem – The Godfather of Breaks returns from his un-mafioso like foray in to nufunk to lay down a slamming breaks set for us featuring his latest cuts. Do not miss the Pilgrem!

Pyramid – The “we can and will make anything we like” darlings of bass lay down their debut 140bpm jungle breaks set fusing ridiculously ugly bass with ridiculously good tearout. Like dubstep, but danceable.

Specimen A – These guys are really making waves with numerous number 1 chart tunes throughout the year, this special DJ showcase is proceeded over by Funkatechs own Incyte and Miss Trouble.

Slyde – Everyones entitled to our opinion, and we say, these guys rock. Jason and Robin are Fingerlickin favourites and their sets of busted out beats and bass are exactly the reasons why.

Richie Balboa vs Will Streetwise – Possibly the hardest working / blagging couple of DJs we’ve ever known, big balls Balboa stormed the Breakthrough DJ award at ‘poll last year and is invited back this year to show us what his learnt after a years worth of groupies, sorry, practice.

Beat Vandals vs MooQee – Bombstrikes in the HOUSE!! The biggest label in the nu funk camp is also run by the nicest fellas you could meet, and its also lucky for you that these guys are shit hot DJs. Expect cut up and scratch hotness.

Barry Ashworth vs DogtownClash – Barry does it his way, Carl does it Westway, and every WAY you go people are dancing… The Westway boys lay down a set of their city-infused treats for us, very rare, very special. Love it!!

Featurecast vs B-Sides – The Southampton duo can be found most weeks laying down their world famous brand of funky breaks to packed out crowds, and we are well looking forward to hearing what they have for us.

Peter Paul vs Frank Lozano – A taste of Seville with N-Mity Sounds head honcho Peter Paul and fast rising star of peak time slam dunkers Frank Lozano lay down a might set of tech funk bangers.

Splitloop – The boys are back, with their brand new label, Funky Toast, but their undeniably fantastic sound and what a combo! Upfront debut tracks tonight, so hassle em for track names!!

Freerange DJs – The beys come up for a party after a stonking year literally taking over the South West. We love ’em, you love ’em, lets call the whole thing ON!

Russ Cuban vs DJP – An ultra rare AV set from two of ghetto funks finest, expect cut, paste and scratch as these two go head to head in an exclusive battle.

Refracture – Fresh blood alert! But you would never know it from his tracks – this guy is HOTNESS!! And his DJ sets are rocking too, watch out for this one, he’ll be back for sure!

Hedflux – Out of nowhere, like a Broken Robot, its Hedflux, slap bang at the top of the Charts! This guy is unstoppable, and adored by an ever increasing fanbase! Check him out while you can still get in!

BETA vs Mesmer – A Sound of Habib showcase from Romanias Mesmer and Londons BETA, as they go back to back with their unique sounds.

601 – The Leeds duo are happy to turn their hand to anything, and change styles more often than we’ve had hot dinners, but all of it is underlined by a resounding quality which is winning them a legion of fans.

So we don’t know about you, but it is gonna be a rip snorter of an event!! Remember tickets for the event are on sale now, so get in quick!
